Cutthroat trout fishing in the high mountains is the adventure of a lifetime!
Last August, I was blessed to be able to spend a few weeks backpacking in Wyoming in search of the best monster cutthroat trout fishing we could find. We fished a few remote rivers but focussed our search on the alpine lakes that were dozens of miles from the nearest parking lot.
Luckily for you, we captured the entire trip in this epic film Rockin' The Rockies!

As you can see, this trip took us to some amazing places and rewarded us with some great fishing opportunities. When it comes to chasing these alpine fish, determination and a little bit of stubbornness go a long way. You'll often hike for half a day just to find the lake you hiked to only has smaller, 12-inch fish. However, when you find the lake full of fish well over 20 inches, it's all worth it!
