This guy has the best luck at finding guns lost or tossed into the river waters. This trip was no different than his other historical finds. It is a complete Civil War Cavalry Spencer Carbine.
Sadly, this incredible firearm has taken a beating after the many decades in the deep abyss. It is, however, a cool piece of history that would look great over the fireplace mantle.
With the right equipment and some choice spots to metal detect, maybe you can make such a discovery. You never know until you try.
