Louisiana isn't known for monster whitetail bucks, so when the Bayou Bowhunter saw this one, he doggedly hunted him for the next 2 years. Here's the story of his pursuit of the buck he named "Jacob."
Though the Bayou Bowhunter is probably best known for his hog hunts using his recurve and long bow in the swamps of Louisiana (and he's killed some monster hogs), he is still primarily a deer hunter at heart. When he first saw this big deer a couple of years ago, he made chasing him his primary goal and spent the next 2 years pursuing this deer.

That deer grossed 172" and no matter what anyone says, B&C-class bucks like that don't grow on trees. Taking one under any circumstances is quite an accomplishment, never mind the fact that the Bayou Bowhunter managed to harvest it with a recurve bow after wounding it the previous year.
