Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters Closing After 30 Years

After 30 years in business, a Canadian chain of outdoor supply stores, Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters, is shutting down.

According to a news report, Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters is shutting down.

The chain is owned by UFA Co-operative Ltd. They closed stores last month only to then tell staff they would be out of a job.

There are 12 stores in Canada with over 440,000 square feet of retail space overall.

The chain had revenue of $103 million in 2016. In 2015, the chain had revenue $113 million which was 9% more than 2016.

Assuming that the chain shut down due to the merging of Bass Pro and Cabelas which operates stores in both Canada and the United States.
