Berkley made a big splash in the bassin' game with the release of these 10 new topwater fishing lures.
The 10 shapes in 16 sizes, which were recently revealed at the annual ICAST show, are guaranteed to give bass anglers a "fin up" on the competition. These lures will hit tackle store shelves this September—just in time for some fall bass fishing.
Teaming up with BASS pros Justin Lucas and Scott Suggs, the new line of Berkley topwater fishing lures provide elite surface action. The lineup includes prop baits, wake baits, poppers and walk-the-dog style lures, all of which are designed to cast like a bullet while being easy to fish.
I got my first glimpse of the new Berkley topwater fishing lures back in October. The folks at Pure Fishing invited me out to Mexico to test their new rods and reels while staying at Anglers Inn International on Mexico's world-famous Lake El Salto.
On the second morning of my trip, Berkley Brand Manager Jeremy Albright hooked into this 6-1/2-pound largemouth bass while tossing a prototype J-Walker 120. Not too shabby for only the third cast!
I was fortunate to receive the complete line of baits to field test just last week, and from a design standpoint, they're very impressive. The Choppo 120 was a definite hit for me the first evening it got wet.
Here's the full lineup of the new Berkley topwater fishing lures for 2018.

Bullet Pop (60, 70, 80)
