This is raw hunting emotion at its best.
Every hunter knows the adrenaline and rush of emotions that come with successfully harvesting a deer. It's an indescribable feeling, especially when you are fortunate enough to harvest your largest deer ever. This emotion can hit anyone regardless of age or hunting experience.
To prove that, just watch this incredible video from YouTuber Hunt Your Way. This father and his 12-year-old daughter are out hunting when a beautiful 8-pointer steps out and gives the girl a prime opportunity.
She makes the most of it and scores a perfect hit on the buck. From the moment she squeezes the trigger on the crossbow, both know it's a perfect hit. The young hunter is so overwhelmed with what just happened she starts shedding tears of joy. It's a magical moment to see on camera. This is what hunting is all about.
It doesn't get much better than that. I'm not sure who was happier, the dad or the daughter. Talk about a special hunting memory! The fact they documented the whole thing on video makes it even sweeter. They can relive this amazing hunt whenever they want now. Dad clearly did a great job of teaching based on how she handled that crossbow and the excellent shot placement.
The buck ended up going less than 30 yards after the shot. It looked like she got some heart and lungs with that one. One cannot ask for much better than that.
We often hear about the very valid concerns about hunting surviving as a tradition because not enough young people are taking up a bow or gun in the fall. It has us equally worried, but we feel a lot better about the future of hunting after seeing a video like this. We can only hope her video inspires other young hunters to take to the woods next fall!
