A fawn fell into a tight hole on this nice man's property, but that didn't stop him from helping it back to its mother.
It's the time of the year when we need to remember that good deeds have their own rewards.
A man making a new building on his property heard the calls of a trapped fawn coming from one of the holes he dug, and when he went to investigate this is what he found: a baby deer that had been barely out of the womb that day had fallen in a mere 10" wide by 20" deep pit and got stuck.
He then proceeded to reunite it with its mother, and this is the heartwarming video that he took:
While he stated that he had called the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Commission, they could not be there in a timely fashion and that it was up to him to save the fawn.
Once he gently took it from the hole it began to bleat and its mama soon showed herself to collect her progeny. That little baby could barely stand up, which was as much about being trapped as it was about it being just born... maybe that day!
Big cheers to this guy for the beautiful save and for reminding us all that being gentle with wild creatures is still a human condition.
