This is what the legendary Bullitt car chase scene looks like 50 years after the original.
Just before the debut of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, Ford released a modern interpretation of the iconic chase scene pitting said Mustang against a new Dodge Charger. While the 1968 Bullitt chase scene lasted almost 11 minutes, the modern-day parking garage chase was a minute and a half, but it still had all of the elements we love about the original.

There were lots of squealing, smoking tires and blurry rearview mirror shots, but the best part is that there was still a McQueen behind the wheel - Steve McQueen's grand daughter, Molly McQueen!
A green Volkswagen Beetle even made a cameo in the video, while the protagonists Charger had a much happier ending.
Of course, the whole thing was put together to launch the all-new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new Bullitt goes on sale this summer, and it will sport the same recognizable cues as Steve McQueen's from the Dark Highland Green (Shadow Black is available, too) and black wheels to the unique grille and faux gas cap on the rear.
Under the hood, the Bullitt gets an upgraded version of the Mustang's 5.0-liter V-8 that will have an output of "at least" 475 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The added power was achieved by using an intake manifold from the Shelby GT350, an active valve performance exhaust, open air induction system and a recalibrated powertrain control module.
These improvements help push the Mustang Bullitt to a top speed of 163 mph, which is 8 mph faster than standard GT.
