After years of waiting, Lamborghini's second-ever SUV is finally ready to hit the road... or track, and the 2019 Lamborghini Urus is more powerful and even meaner looking than we thought!
While the eyes of the automotive world were focused on the L.A. Auto Show, the 2019 Lamborghini Urus made its production debut at Lamborghini's headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.
More importantly, the SUV's production figures have been announced, and you won't be disappointed.

Since performance is paramount in any Lamborghini, the Urus will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 under the hood, with ratings of 650 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.
Just to show how versatile the Urus was designed to be, the choice to use a turbocharged V-8 - Lamborghini's first-ever turbo engine - was to provide low-end torque for off-road driving; peak torque is available from 2,250 rpm to 4,500 rpm.
The drivetrain features two standard differentials - a locking center differential and a torque vectoring rear differential - that further improve performance both on and off-road. In regular driving, the torque split from at the front and rear axles is 40:60, but up to 70 can be sent to the front wheels and up to 87 percent to the rear. Standard rear-wheel steering (borrowed from the Aventador S) helps improve cornering and handling.

Enthusiasts are more concerned with the performance capabilities of this SUV, so here you go. Accelerating from 0-62 mph takes just 3.6 seconds, and getting up to 124 mph takes 12.8 seconds.
Along with the horsepower rating, the top speed of 189 mph ensures that the 2019 Lamborghini Urus is the world's fastest SUV, edging out the closely related Bentley Bentayga; the Urus, Bentayga, Audi Q7, and Porsche Cayenne all share components. Standard carbon ceramic brakes help bring the 4,850-pound vehicle from 62-0 mph in 110 feet.

Where Lamborghini's original SUV - the LM002 - sported a brutish, military-inspired look, the Urus has a design that is unmistakably Lamborghini. The wheel arches or more angular than a Countach and the body creases are sharper than an Aventador.

The sloped, coupe-like profile also gives the Urus a different profile than its sister platform SUVs. The four-passenger cabin is a mix of sporty and elegant.
After all, the Urus was designed to be a multipurpose SUV capable of tackling track duty, off-road jaunts and, of course, showing off in the valet lot.
The 2019 Lamborghini Urus goes on sale in the U.S. in the spring of 2018 with a base price of $200,000.
