So thankful to have killed my biggest buck EVER yesterday in Kentucky with a bow - a 161 1/8" 11 point in full velvet I had named "Spanky" - This is NOT a high fence deer for those commenting that it is 🤦🏻‍♀️ come on people. - The back story: The first evening hunting at Whitetail Heaven, this buck walked in front of me. The wind was light and variable, which meant it was blowing every way but the right way. He came out after 2 does and a smaller 8 point. The does were down wind of me and spooked, running this deer (we called him Crab Claw at the time for obvious reasons) off before he could get close enough for me to get a shot at him with my bow. I noticed he had a snubbed off tail, so I decided to change his name to Spanky because of that, and because he spanked my tail that afternoon 🙃 Plus, I've hunted and heard of several deer called "Crab Claw," but NEVER a buck named "Spanky" 😂 I had my heart pretty set on Spanky, so I hunted him religiously for the next 4 days with him hardly showing up on the trial cameras. Yesterday, the wind was iffy but it was our last afternoon with a camera crew (we were filming for @officialbonecollector) so I decided to change the light and variable wind again but use @jeffbarron70's Smoke Tactic this time. Me and my camera man @scottspitzley88 built us a fire and smoked ourselves, our clothes, my bow, and all of our gear before heading to the woods. I didn't have much faith in it, but sure enough he finally showed back up with 2 other 8 points and a couple of does. Drawing back with that many eyes watching wasn't easy, but I was able to blow an arrow through him at 31 yards 🙌🏻 - @jeffbarron70 tagged out on a beautiful 145" 8 point on day 2 and @cohenstone killed 2 coyotes! - Set up: Bow: @elitearchery Broadheads: @naparchery Hellrazors 📸: @ntpimages

You may recognize Hannah as the girl with a monster catfish usually slung over her shoulder. While she's certainly an expert in noodling huge flatheads, she's no slouch in the deer woods either. Hannah is also an excellent wingshooter, and let's face it, she knows out to fill a freezer. Her profile is always showcasing her latest adventure, so be sure to tag along.

One year ago today ❤️ I'm still in utter disbelief this bull is mine... A lifelong dream turned into a reality. This experience forever changed who I am as a hunter, and taught me many lessons I will carry with me throughout life. - If you want to read the whole story, I wrote about it in detail on my blog. Birds would be wise to initiate a no-fly-zone anytime she walks out the front door, as Cara is a talented waterfowl and turkey hunter. She's also an avid bowhunter with a heart for conservation. Don't even think about wading into duck season without giving Cara a follow!
