If you're looking for one of the newest crossbows, or just looking to get into crossbow hunting, here are some options for you.
With record feet-per-second velocity, the newest crossbows on the market are changing the game.
These aren't your granddad's or even your dad's typical crossbow.
These are some of the best new crossbows from the ATA Show that have made their way onto the market for hunters.
1. TenPoint Nitro X
One of TenPoint's newest products, the Nitro X shoots a remarkable 440 FPS and has a 7-inch axle-to-axle length. The reverse draw allows for the axle-to-axle to be tighter for better velocity. But, the reason the axle-to-axle is so narrow is because of the new Sling-Shot and Vector Quad Cable technology that TenPoint is featuring. With velocity like that, wild game, especially whitetail deer, are not going to run very far.
These are so new they haven't even seen much of the woods yet. In fact, these crossbows are only able to be pre-ordered right now and will ship in the next few months.
2. Ravin R20
The new crossbow for 2018 by Ravin is the R20. This crossbow is incredibly accurate and shoots at a speed of 430 feet-per-second with a kinetic energy of 164 foot-pounds. Its draw weight is 270 pounds with a light cocking weight of only 12 pounds. The Ravin Sniper Package includes a Vortex 1-8 x 24 tactical scope, 100 grain practice field points, an adjustable Jack Plate Elevation Mount that adjusts from 20-200 yards and so much more.
If that's not enough, it comes with a built-in cocking device and a removable handle. The cocking mechanism is referred to as the Trac-Trigger Firing System. The HeliCoil technology allows to cock and de-cock the bow without compromising the integrity of the bow. One of the best features of this crossbow is the anti-dry fire and auto safety to protect users from unnecessarily firing the bow.
3. Excalibur Assassin
The all new Excalibur Assassin boasts the silent Charger Cranking System that allows you to shoot 360 feet-per-second. However, it also provides a safe way to de-cock to ensure you never have to shoot a wasted arrow. With recurve technology, Excalibur sets itself apart by making the strings easier to change without compromising speed.
4. Barnett Predator
One of Barnett Crossbows' newest additions, the Predator fires at a speed of 430 feet-per-second with a 16.33-inch power stroke. It contains 156 kinetic energy feet-pounds and weighs only 7.8 pounds. The bow is one of the lightest on the market yet one of the fastest.
If you're in the compound crossbow market above are definitely some great options. All these companies sell bows at lower price points as well, however, the investment is worth it.
