4 Revolutionary Products Garmin Displayed at ATA

A GPS is arguably the most vital tool you can bring on a hunt, but Garmin has other hunting products, too.

Garmin has become the name within the GPS market, and for good reason. Not only do they produce high-quality products, but they offer a lot of different options to pick from.

When preparing for a hunt, a charged GPS is probably the first thing you should pack, as getting lost can quickly become a fatal mistake. Whether you're hunting a vast unit of public land in Montana or a heavily wooded unit just down the road, getting lost can happen in the blink of an eye.

With technology forever progressing, it seems foolish to not capitalize on all the resources at our fingertips. And, there's no brand in the industry making technological strides at the same level as Garmin, as it's now moved into other markets within the hunting industry.

The following four products alone, which Garmin showcased at the Archery Trade Association (ATA) Trade Show 2019, prove that to be true.

Garmin Instinct

Garmin ATA

This smartwatch is ready to take on any conditions. It meets U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance, and it's submersible up to 100 meters.

Garmin gave this watch a three-axis compass, a barometric altimeter and three navigation systems, including GPS, Galileo and GLONASS. It has a battery life of up to 14 days when only in smartwatch mode, and can support up to 16 hours of GPS usage and 40 hours of UltraTrac  battery saver mode.

The coolest feature of this watch, though, is its ability to track your heart rate, activity and stress. Using the Instinct and GoWild app, hunters can track their heart rate at the exact moment of a shot.

Garmin inReach Mini

The inReach Mini offers hunters a small, lightweight tool to stay connected when cell service is nowhere to be found. Providing hunters with two-way text messaging through the global Iridium satellite network, the Mini will keep you in contact with loved ones at all time.

It also allows those same people to follow your adventure, wherever you are.

Garmin inReach Explorer+

The inReach Explorer+ offers the same features as the Mini, but offers a full-size GPS, more battery life, the ability to check the weather and more.

The Explorer boasts up to 100 hours of battery life in the 10-minute tracking mode and 75 hours when set to the 10-minute tracking with 1-second logging. The battery will last up to 30 days at the 30-minute interval power save mode and up to three years when the power is turned off.

Both the Mini and the Explorer+ are built for some of the roughest conditions, as each are impact- and water-resistant.

Garmin Xero A1i Bow Sight

Garmin ATA

OK, so when it comes to ATA, it's safe to say the Xero bow sight is the headliner of Garmin devices. How wouldn't it be? It's bow sight with a rangefinder, and it actually works.

Garmin came out with the Xero last year at ATA, but it continues to gain popularity. With a year behind them, the folks at Garmin have managed to fix any new-product bugs that were of concern.

The Xero uses a built-in laser range finder to measure the angle-compensated distance between you and your target. So, whether you're up in a treestand or quietly sitting in a ground blind, this sight will give you an accurate pin for the shot.

It features dual-color LED pins, a multi-pin configuration and multiple arrow profiles, as well as the Laser Locate feature, which helps hunter find arrows and track game.

It takes two AAA lithium batteries, which will last for up to two years.
