As you can see mother polar bears have a long journey ahead of them when becoming pregnant. They must attract a mate using the chemical signatures left behind in their tracks then bulk up before heeding underground for four months in the fall.

Once the cubs are born they spends another four moths together living in the snow cave until the spring when they all adventure out in to the new world.
