Missouri, like a lot of other states, is dealing with a CWD problem in their wild deer herds. And also like many states, they've designated certain areas where CWD has been detected as specific zones, most of which require CWD testing on harvested animals season after season.
This process helps reduce herd numbers, which hopefully suppresses the outbreak of the disease. It also allows state wildlife regulators learn more about the spread of the disease through samples.
As our Drury Outdoors team member showed, just because you're hunting in a CWD zone, doesn't mean you're not going to encounter, and kill, big bucks!
