Hunting and fishing gear seized by the Minnesota DNR goes up for auction late April and you may find the deal of a lifetime.
Outdoors enthusiasts will have a chance to grab some bargains when the Minnesota DNR holds an auction of hunting and fishing gear Saturday, April 29, 2017, with a viewing of the items on 28 April, between 1 and 4 p.m.
A wide range of firearms, bows and gear will be up on the block starting 9 a.m. at the Hiller Auction Service in Zimmerman Minnesota. This is the first DNR auction since 2014 and consists of items confiscated from perpetrators of serious game violations. Those wishing to bid must attend the auction in person, as no phone nor web bidding will be available.
The good news story is that all revenue generated from these sales will go directly back into the DNR budget, helping to close the gap on an expected deficit in 2019. This budget is critical in the maintenance and protection of wildlife resources in Minnesota.
An overview of some the items up for auction are as follows:
-
100 bows
-
387 firearms
-
Tree stands
-
fishing rods, reels and gear
-
trail cameras
-
tip-ups for ATVs
-
spotlights
-
traps
-
scopes
-
spears
This is a great opportunity for anglers and hunters to pickup some gear and contribute directly to conservation in the great state of Minnesota.
