Watch This Huge Great White Chow Down on a Much Bigger Whale Carcass

Nothing goes to waste in the ocean.

Big sharks need big meals. And that's just what one great white got last week in the waters off Dana Point, California last week.

Shark taggers were able to take advantage of a dead humpback whale to film and tag a huge 16-18 foot white shark that may be pregnant. Watch this big fish chow down in the video below.

The Orange County Register reports the whale was well-known in the area and suffering from some health issues dating back to last year. Boats towed the 55-foot carcass out to sea to keep it away from the beaches.

That's where shark tagger Keith Poe came in, knowing the body would attract big predators. "She looked like she was here to give birth - she was very large in her girth," Poe told the Orange County Register. "As she was eating the whale, it was ridiculous how big she got. She was swimming upside-down, just swimming around like she was very happy and satisfied."

Poe was able to tag the great white and works with the Marine Conservation Institute to help the researchers there better understand these massive predators.

That is one big shark. Truly this is a feast only a shark could love. It just goes to show, nothing goes to waste in the oceans.
