When your 19-inch smallie spits up a 9-inch rat, you know it's time to tie on a Spro BBZ-1.
Joe Raymond, a smallmouth bass guide on the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, had an unusual experience May 22. After landing a 19 inch smallie, the fish spit up a partially-digested rat that measured a full 9 inches long! Talk about gluttony.
Raymond posted pics of his find to Instagram, with a shout-out to Spro's BBZ-1 Rat:
Talk about 'matching the hatch.' And here we were thinking those rat lures were simply a gimmick. Apparently not.
These pics remind us of a piece we recently published, showcasing fish that bit off a little more than they could chew. To see those cool images, go HERE.
What's the strangest thing you've ever seen a fish spit up? We'd love to hear all about them.
