I got a chance to test out the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC DX Laser Rangefinder and this is what I found.
My test unit Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC DX Laser Rangefinder has been a constant companion since I received it. I have used it for wildlife viewing, impromptu gun range trips and laying out my deer season stand locations. Now that deer season is here, the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC DX Laser Rangefinder is in the front pocket of my hunting jacket. This 6x21mm laser range finder is designed and engineered right here in the good ol' USA.
What does the ARC stand for, you ask? The answer is "angle range compensation." The bow mode provides true horizontal distance between 5-99 yards away, a feature archery hunters in treestands will really like. The rifle mode provides bullet drop and holdover in inches, centimeters MOA or 1/10 MIL. Set your caliber and the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC DX Laser Rangefinder will tell you what your bullet drop will be out at your targeted distance.
My field experience with the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC DX Laser Rangefinder has been quite positive. It's easily maneuverable, which comes it handy when split seconds count. The lanyard allows me to wear the unit around my neck and tuck it into a front coat pocket. It's out of the way but ready when game appears. The optics are very clear and I enjoyed using it as a standard 6x21mm monocular for observing game and wildlife. It's a lot smaller than binoculars and a whole lot more handy. It was easy to gauge the distance of deer-sized targets past 300 yards. I could see larger objects that would reflect, such as a tree, from more than 600 yards out.
How has it stood up to rough use in the field? Well, this product is tough. From hot weather to bitterly cold temperatures, it's been a trooper. This rangefinder features a waterproof feature, which has held up in rain, sleet and snow. The rubbery armor keeps it safe and quiet in your pocket.
