Is this the famous monster?
News on the world's most famous monster legend is again hitting Scotland after a nine-year-old took a photo some are claiming is the fin of the famous Loch Ness Monster.
The Daily Record reports Sam Knight was on vacation with his family during a cruise that was a highlight for the 9-year-old. "Sam is very excited," his mother Jo Knight told reporters. "It appears to be a very dark shape somewhere in Urquhart Bay. It is part of the mystery.
The boy was so excited to search for Nessie that he took hundreds of photos of the loch during their cruise. The family didn't actually discover the photo in question until they reviewed them later.
While the popular legend is that the Loch Ness Monster is a dinosaur-like creature of some kind, the Knight family believes in a more grounded explanation. They believe the monster to be a sturgeon or eel.
Critics have already dismissed the photo as simply being a wave. We'll let you be the judge. In any case, it's probably the highest-profile sighting since a man claimed to have taken the clearest photo ever of Nessie last September.
There was some speculation that photo showed only seals in a line.
The photo taken by Knight has officially been declared as the eighth Nessie sighting of the year, which is a new record for sightings of the legend in the 21st century.
