Don't let a little rain shower ruin your bear hunt. This video shows just how good hunting in the rain can be if you can deal with the discomfort.
No matter what anyone might say, you can still go bear hunting in the rain and find success. Mark Cuddeback (yes, the trail camera guy) saw this firsthand on his bear hunt in Saskatchewan with Bear Hunting Magazine Editor Clay Newcomb and their friend Ryan Greb.
Though Mark had seen several nice bears earlier in his hunt, he elected to pass on them. During this time, Clay shot a big, color-phase bear that tried to climb into the blind with him and Ryan shot an even bigger boar after witnessing an incredible bear fight.
Then it started raining. However, Mark didn't let that spoil his hunt and was rewarded for his persistence.
So yes, you can go bear hunting in the rain. Like many other animals, black bears will still feed during a light rain. As you saw in the video, a light shower doesn't really bother black bears, and they'll probably keep moving around like normal as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard.
It may not be the most comfortable experience, but a bear hunt in the rain may end up being a very successful and memorable endeavor.
