New for 2018: Tactacam 5.0 is the Camera Designed for Hunters

Tactacam has unveiled the Tactacam 5.0 at the 2018 ATA Show, and this thing is loaded with goodies.

As the popularity of sharing our experiences with others increases, so does popularity of filming our hunts. The problem with that is it usually requires a great deal of money, a bunch of supplemental equipment, and a talented cameraman.

That ended when the first Tactacam first hit the shelves.

Tactacam is the first camera truly designed for hunters. It holds an extremely simple design with one-touch record and is built for the toughest conditions.

It's easy to use, easy to share and does not interfere with your hunt. You simply attach the Tactacam to your bow, gun, crossbow, scope or anywhere else, and you are ready to hunt and share your experience.

Since then, Tactacam has gone above and beyond in their new Tactacam 5.0. This thing is loaded with goodies many hunters can appreciate.

Whats new with the Tactacam 5.0?

The previous version, the Tactacam 4.0, had a 5x zoom and has allowed hunters to film their hunt, up close and personal with their prey. The new Tactacam 5.0 has gone a step further and loaded up with new technology to provide an even better experience.

The number one eye catcher for most in the new Tactacam 5.0 is the 8x zoom. That will bring you so close, I'm predicting you will see the hairs split on impact. In order to do that, you have to have Ultra HD resolution, and the Tactacam 5.0 delivers. It records in 4K for a true Ultra HD experience, but can still record in 1080p High Definition and in slow motion if needed.

One of the coolest features of the new Tactacam 5.0 is the ability to stream on Facebook Live. I'm expecting to see those who partner with or are sponsored by Tactacam streaming live on their social media pages come next hunting season, hopefully inspiring anyone and everyone to do the same. This thing will truly make you a hunting film creator.

Additional upgrades

Aside from what is mentioned above, the new Tactacam 5.0 now features a new image stabilization technology that will help keep things in focus as much as possible. This is big news; I know that the recoil of a bow or gun can shake the camera and distort the video, leaving you with great "before and after" footage, but a blurry shot and impact.

I was told he new image stabilization technology will take care of that vibration and ensure a much higher quality image.

The new Tactacam 5.0 also has a remote sync. This allows the control of multiple cameras with the push of a button, from distances of 30 feet. That's a very cool feature for anyone looking to get multiple camera angles of their hunt. That's the ultimate experience, and another way Tactacam brings you closer to a real, professional hunting video.

The Tactacam 5.0 will also have better low-light recording than its previous models. The ultra sharp lens will withstand the first or last few minutes of shooting light, when most of the action takes place.

Mounting Options

The Tactacam can mount just about anywhere. The bow package features a stabilizer mount, designed to replace your stabilizer. The gun mount features a mounting bracket that provides you with several options.

Price and release date

The Tactacam 5.0 is said to be available for purchase in June 2018. This should give hunters plenty of time to get familiar with it before Opening Day. The MSRP is set at $429, and the Tactacam 4.0 and other cameras will still be available.

The Tactacam 5.0 will also be available in a wide lens version.

You can find out more on the Tactacam 5.0 on the company's website.
