After a seven-year hiatus from professional archery, Bobby Eyler came back strong.
Turning heads is easy when you win the biggest archery event of the year in the Vegas World Championship.
What was even more impressive is the fact that Bobby Eyler won it all with a compound bow he'd only used for a week prior.
The bow he won with was a Martin Axon-40, an upper-end compound designed for target archers. The Axon-40 is technically 39 1/2 inches, and features a 7-inch brace height, 65-85-percent let-off and fires arrows at 328 feet per second. Eyler shoots the short-draw version at 26-29 inches with a draw weight of 40-70 pounds.
It also features both Martin's Balanced Bow Technology and Dual Sych Techonlogy, which allow for an optimal fit and a smooth draw. Additionally, it utilizes a Helix Cam with the Helix Groove to eliminate cam lean.
As a prize for his victory, Eyler got $52,000 from the event, and $26,500 contingency earning from Martin's shooter program.
