Bullit County is pretty famous for its bourbon. Well, maybe now it's famous for catfish, too!
A Bullit County constable is making the news for catching a nice catfish right in his own front yard. Recent flooding has left a large area of the Midwest underwater. In some places, like off Robert Watkins' front porch, fishing opportunities have sprung up rather unexpectedly. Watkins lives right off the Salt River, and when this river began to flood, the big catfish came right along with it.
Just check out this news story. It's hard to believe, but this isn't the biggest catfish Watkins has caught like this before.
"In 2011, we got 16 of 'em in three days that was bigger than that," he said in the video. "We got 'em up to 85 pounds."
At the time of this article, Watkins' house was still not underwater. However, he has still been taking advantage of his newfound fishing opportunities. Once these flood waters subside, most of these fish will head back down the river toward Fort Knox where the water is much deeper.
