This isn't just the best thing since sliced bread. It's even better than sliced bread.
You can make enough of this amazing bacon jam on your stovetop or in your slow cooker to be happy for a very long time.
If you're using a slow-cooker, all you need is:
- 1.5 pounds of bacon,
- 2 medium onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 quarters of a cup of brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
This video will show you the rest:
The hardest part will definitely be the four-hour wait for the jam to simmer. But after that, your burger or anything else for that matter, will be slathered in a homemade, sweet and salty bacon jam!
I'd be curious as to what else could be used to coarsely chop the ingredients for those who don't want to buy a food processor or blender. Perhaps that's where a little old-fashioned elbow grease comes into play.
Now, let me see how many stories I can write while the slow-cooker is working...
