Can You Over-Lubricate a Gun?

Is there such thing as too much lubrication on a firearm?

This myth needed a serious test, and Vickers Tactical was up for the challenge.

We've heard too much lubrication can stop a weapon in its tracks. We have also heard it can be very dangerous to the shooter and the weapon on some occasions.

Is this just a myth? Well, Larry Vickers seriously over-lubricates some weapons to test this out, and the guns shoot flawlessly. However they do leave oil all over the place.

However, if these weapons were now exposed to sand or dirt, there could be problems.
