Hussein just turned 24, so he and his father decided to celebrate by going to the shooting range together.
It's pretty typical to see a young man and his father together at the shooting range. However, King Abdullah II and his son Hussein, the Crown Prince of Jordan, are not your ordinary father and son.
In addition to being members of the Jordanian royal family, both men are military officers and graduates of the prestigious Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the United Kingdom. King Abdullah in particular also has a carefully cultivated image as a "warrior king" and videos like the one below help him maintain that persona.
The video is obviously a well-rehearsed and high-production piece of propaganda, but it's still a cool video to watch and, like the famous video of Keanu Reeves, both men clearly know how to handle their firearms far better than your average guy.
The video was likely filmed at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center in Jordan. Built with the assistance of the U.S. Army, the facility is used for training Jordan's special operations forces and hosts the Annual Warrior Competition. This is where counter-terrorism forces from all over the world face off to see who really is the best.
