Founded by Ian McCollum, the face of Forgotten Weapons, Headstamp Publishing will publish books on historically noteworthy military small arms and other related military technology.
Ian McCollum is well known for his work with the Forgotten Weapons YouTube channel, where he teaches viewers about important weapons and equipment that had an outsized impact on military history. While Ian plans to continue his work with Forgotten Weapons, he's also happy to announce the founding of a new company: Headstamp Publishing.
In partnership with his friends and collaborators Nic Jenzen-Jones and James Rupley, Ian founded Headstamp Publishing with the goal of being the premier source of authoritative books on military weapons and small arms ammunition. Not only do they want to publish impressive pieces of scholarship, but Headstamp Publishing also wants to produce magnificent works of art.
Their first book will be Ian's work on French military rifles: Chassepot to FAMAS: French Military Rifles, 1866-2016. McCollum's book will be followed by two more: Thorneycroft to SA80: British Military Bullpup Firaerms, 1901-2018 by Jonathan Ferguson and The Emir's New Rifles: A History Of The Kabul Arsenal, 1885-1920 by N. R. Jenzen-Jones and Vernon Easley.
Those three books should very thoroughly encompass the history of certain firearms made in France, the United Kingdom, and Afghanistan respectively. However, there are a whole range of other historically important military firearms they have yet to cover like American, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish rifles (just to name a few).
For that reason, the Headstamp Publishing Company is looking for experts (from the United States as well as the rest of the world) who can contribute to the the study of military cartridges and rifles.
So, if you've been considering writing a book on noteworthy military firearms and want it to be a definitive work on the subject, consider heading over to HeadstampPublishing.com and checking out what they have to offer. There aren't many other publishing companies that can provide a comparable level of expertise and support when it comes to writing about firearms.
On the other hand, if you love learning about military firearms but are not planning on writing a book, you should still head over to the Headstamp Publishing web site and consider purchasing their books as they become available. Their first three books should all be released over the course of 2019, with (hopefully) many more quality works to follow.
