BlacktipH Goes Saltwater Bowfishing for Bonito

Buckle up, it's time to do some saltwater bowfishing.

When you think of bowfishing, you typically picture guys trolling through a swamp in the middle of the night, using a boat completely decked out with high-powered floodlights.

However, the sport is constantly growing, and saltwater is seemingly drawing more and more bowfishermen every day.

When it come to saltwater fishing, BlacktipH host and Florida angler Josh Jorgensen has essentially done it all, so it was only a matter of time before he started pulling some strings.

And, to spice things up, he even made a point to recruit two of the industry's most popular bowhunters, Mike and bud Fisher of Catchin' Deers.

Freshwater fish will probably always be the focal point of bowfishing, but it's easy to see saltwater offers its own unique challenges.

First and foremost, there aren't any freshwater fish (that are legal to harvest with a bow) that are as fast as a bonito. Can you imagine trying to hit one of those things?

Also, fortunately for us, it didn't stop there. Not only did these guys get plenty of shots at bonito after throwing out chum, but they also came across blue runners, rainbow runners and remoras.

After Mike finally nailed the group's one and only bonito via bow, the group went toe to toe with some of the other available species.

But ultimately, in typical BlacktipH fashion, these guys had to go for a shark.

Mike ended up catching the biggest fish of his life, a 400-pound bull shark.

As fast as those bonito are, would you ever guess they swim around at roughly 30 mph? It's no wonder such a small fish puts up such a big fight!
