Ugly Stick Announces New Species Specific Carbon Rods and Tuff Net

Legendary fishing rod maker Ugly Stick has just announced several new species-specific rods in their Carbon series line for catfish, crappie, and salmon/steelhead. Ugly Stick stays the Carbon series is some of their lightest fishing rods ever, up to 30 percent lighter than anything they've produced before. At the same time, they also say these new rods are up to 50 percent stronger, so they still live up to the legendary toughness the brand is known for.

These new rods are made with 24-ton graphite and feature a solid graphite tip to help with increase sensitivity. Ugly stick also gave them one-piece stainless steel guides that should prove to be quite durable. The handles are made of high-density EVA foam and include a golf-style fore grip.

The catfish model will be available in eight different models and lengths varying from 7'6" to 9'6". Ugly Stick expects the MSRP to be $89.95 to $99.95 depending on the model. These rods are available right now.

The Salmon and Steelhead options will include 10 different models from 7'6" to 10'6" in length. These will be available starting in October and Ugly Stick puts the MSRP at $99.95 to $119.95 each. The crappie models will range from a stout 5'4" to 11' and will be available in ten different models. These rods are also available right now and have an MSRP ranging from $59.95 to $74.95. Looks like these new rods will all be out just in time for the holidays.

Ugly Stick also announced the introduction of their new Tuff Landing nets which are designed to take a beating and still help you land big fish. These nets will be available in small, medium, and large sizes to suit any style of fishing. They feature an aluminum yoke and hoop that won't rust, and a knotless, dipped net made of coated nylon.

Ugly Stick gave these nets non-stick grips and says they can withstand a 120-pound load. These nets will be available in November. The small will have an MSRP of $139.99, the medium will be $169.99, and the large will be $199.99. Check out the Ugly Stick website for more information on these products and the company's other tough fishing products.
