PENN Announces New Affordable Fierce IV Reels and Combos

PENN Fishing has introduced a new lineup of saltwater spinning reels and combos, and these new offerings are designed to be more affordable for—without skimping on quality, which is what the brand is famously known for by anglers.

The company says the new PENN Fierce IV reel, the next evolution of the ever-popular Fierce III lineup, will be available in sizes from 1000 to 8000. The spinning reel features a full-metal body, four sealed stainless steel bearings, a graphite techno-balanced rotor, and an HT-100 carbon fiber drag system. The spools are machined superline aluminum, and there's also an instant anti-reverse bearing. PENN added line-capacity rings to the spool to help you judge how much line is out while fighting a larger fish, a seriously cool addition to a saltwater reel.

The new Fierce IV is already available to anglers and the price ranges from $79.99 to $139.99 depending on the model chosen. Also, PENN is offering these reels in an extremely affordable combo package with a rod already included. The company says its 16 different offerings will include everything from boat to inshore angling.

The rods for the combos will be graphite composite blanks, and PENN is adding their stainless steel one-piece dura guides to each of them. The rods will be available in lengths varying from 6' 6" to 10'. Actions for the combos will vary from medium light to heavy. PENN is packaging these new combos with reels from sizes 2000 to 8000, so there's sure to be a combo for almost every angling style and scenario. PENN gave the rods ergonomic EVA foam-grip handles and a graphite DPS-style reel seat.

The new Fierce IV combos are already available to anglers and range from $109.99 to $159.99—depending on the length and reel size chosen. Find more information about these products and PENN's other saltwater offerings on its website.
