Celebrity Hunting Couple Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy, Gets Baiting and Poaching Charges Dropped

Two well-known personalities in the hunting industry have changed their plea and been given a 2023 sentencing date for their alleged role in what's considered Nebraska's biggest poaching case ever.

After withdrawing not guilty pleas from the poaching case with accusations that initially date back to 2015, Josh Bowmar and his wife Sarah Bowmar, known professionally as Bowmar Hunting LLC, have pleaded guilty to one Count and the other charges, including baiting deer and poaching deer, will be dropped. Details of the couple's most recent court appearance were outlined in public court documents shared first by GearJunkie. Sentencing is scheduled for January 12, 2023.

Josh Bowmar took to Instagram and the bowmarbowhunting account to share his reaction:

The Bowmars have long denied the allegations of poaching and baiting, but have openly admitted they had hunted with the other accused parties throughout the time periods that the case focused on. The initial news of the case filing and the Bowmar's involvement spread through the hunting world in 2020, as the couple had gained a large following and turned their hunting participation and influencer lifestyle into several businesses. Combined, the bowmarbowhunting, joshbowmar, and sarahbowmar Instagram accounts have more than 1.5 million followers, and their YouTube channel has more than 250,000 subscribers.

But they weren't without other controversial issues, including Josh legally hunting a bear with a spear and then receiving public backlash and losing Under Armour Hunt's endorsement.

We'll follow the situation and share more news on the case and sentencing as it happens.
