A Hilarious Look at the 5 Types of Deer Stands

Many hunters have difficulty deciding what type of deer stand they should use for the season. Do you go with a hang-on or a ladder stand? How about one of those fancy elevated box blinds? We know there are a lot of detailed guides out there explaining how to choose, but let's be honest, we want something simple and to the point that breaks down the pros and cons of each without all that technical jargon from the manufacturer. You know, things like which type of stand is best for napping.

That's why the guys behind the YouTube channel "You Betcha" come in to help. They're looking at the essential questions about choosing this vital equipment. And they've put together this hilarious guide to the five types of deer stands to choose from this season.

"I'm going to shoot a million deer out of here... over the years!"

Once again, these guys hit the nail on the head, and we feel a little called out by some of the stereotypes of these stands and the hunters who use them. The whole part about hang-on stand users planting enough food plots to make money by farming is spot on. And who hasn't stowed away pieces of scrap wood for years just in case it comes in handy one day? Now you have your next project before the season. Although he forgot the part about clearing out the mice nests from that stand your first sit every year.

Of course, the hilarious part is the five-gallon bucket is the ultimate deer stand. We're not even trying to be funny on that one. We're betting more deer have been killed by hunters sitting on buckets than any other stand. My last two successful hunts were when I plopped a chair that might as well have been a bucket down next to a food plot and then shot a buck off it later that evening. Sometimes keeping it simple pays off!
