This pup named Kiah, which means "new beginning," needs a break.
Kiah was wandering the streets for two weeks before a good samaritan picked her up. When the dog's owner couldn't be located, she was brought to Cherokee Humane Society in Acworth, Georgia.
Upon Kiah's arrival, the staff at CHS discovered some terrible things: her teeth were filed down, she had clearly been overbred, and there were pellets from a pellet gun near her spine.
Kiah was also pregnant, which should have been a good thing; however, when Kiah was taken to the vet, they discovered that all of her puppies were dead. An emergency c-section was required.
Recovering from the c-section, has been an uphill battle for Kiah. The momma lies distraught in her bed, and the only way she will eat any food is by hand.

To help lift this momma's spirits, the staff at CHS put some tiny stuffed animals in Kiah's bed. The stuffed animals definitley don't replace the real thing, but they seem to be offering the pup some much-needed comfort.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help with Kiah's medical expenses. So far, CHS has surpassed their $1000 goal by $925.
