Get your cat ready for a fun outing!
The POP Cats show is a cat convention that celebrates all things feline. According to a press release, the show will create an "immersive feline universe where humans can shop, learn, adopt, play, and connect with the spirited cat community."
The first POP Cats show was held in Miami, Florida in 2017 and this year's extravaganza will be held in Austin, Texas. The founders, siblings Edgar Alexander and Johana Flores, are excited to have their event in the Texas capitol.
"From the moment you arrive, Austinites warm your heart with genuine kindness. The city's creative spirit is evident in the beautiful public art around town and being home to long-standing no-kill animal shelters is proof that its residents are also passionate about pets."
The pop-culture convention will take place at the Palmer Events Center off Barton Springs Road on August 25-26, so mark your calendars! The show will feature cat experts, cat advocates, and influencers, great music, food and cat-tails (cocktails), fun games, visual artists, and vendors. All with the right amount of cat-titude. A full list of vendors will be released in April.
Austin Humane Society has been confirmed and will be at the convention with plenty of the cutest adoptable cats along with information on the city's local cat welfare efforts.
The best part about the POP Cats Show? Attendees can bring their own fuzzy felines as long as they are current on vaccinations and comfortable on a leash or in a carrier. Dogs are not allowed, even if they look like a cat.
Early bird tickets for the ultimate cat lovers are currently on sale through March 31 on Eventbrite. Tickets range from $7.50-$25. Get them here.
