What if your dog was stolen by a delivery driver? Then he appears on Craigslist?
A woman and her boyfriend stole someone's wiener dog when they were delivering packages for Amazon in Parker County Texas.
What's worse is they tried to sell the dog online on Craigslist. The family's doorbell camera caught them in the act. Amazon issued a statement letting folks know these two are no longer delivering packages for their company. (I would hope not!)
The New York Post reported that they tried to sell the dog online for as little as $70. The two Amazon drivers were identified as Devanta Lynn Mooring, 25, and Mycah Keyona Wade, 22.
Investigators said they found a Craigslist ad featuring the dog after the heartless theft.
"There was no contact information, but we're pretty sure it was RJ that was for sale on Craigslist for $100," Parker County sheriff's property crimes investigator Ethan Stark told the Weatherford Democrat. "The ad immediately changed once I contacted the suspect."
The dog had gotten out of the family's home for a split second and wandered far enough away that he was easy to grab and there was a construction crew in the area. Wade asked the crew who the dog belonged to and they snatched him up and drove away!
Everyone should get to you know your Amazon delivery driver so you recognize the people driving around in your neighborhood. If our Dachshund got out and was stolen I'd be horrified! Especially if he was close to the front yard. Luckily our doxie isn't that great with strangers and would probably bite them!
