Do you love Tia Torres of 'Pit Bulls & Parolees' on Animal Planet as much as we do?
The Animal Planet television series debuted in 2009. And when the organization moved to Louisiana in 2011, filming never stopped. The family of dog-lovers has since made a name for themselves in New Orleans.
TV Overmind tells us a few things about the family we didn't know! There's a lot more to her than just training pit bulls.
1. Tia has been married a few times
Torres' third husband, Aren Jackson, actually gave her the idea of hiring parolees at the Villalobos Rescue Center because he was one, according to TV Overmind.
2. Her Pit Bull Duke saved her from a rooster attack
A rooster belonging to her ex-husband apparently attacked Tia on a regular basis, even once clawing her face! One particular attack, however, was the last one as Tia's dog Duke saved her.
3. Tia Torres was previously married to Aren Marcus Jackson
The pair met in the 1980s and were reportedly married in 2006. It's believed the two are no longer together as of 2020, though official records aren't known.
4. Tia has four children
Tia has two daughters: Tania and Maria Torres, and two twin sons Keli'l and Kanani. Tania is from her prior relationship before she met Jackson, while Maria is hers and Jackson's biological daughter.
5. What about her animal rescue business?
The Villalobos Rescue Center is one of the largest put bulls rescue facilities in the U.S. As part of the rescue business, she runs training seminars, medical services, and obedience classes for pit bulls.
'Pit Bulls and Parolees' is one of the best shows on Animal Planet. Torres was also a truck driver for the US Army! This animal-lover has done more for pit bulls with her animal shelter and pit bull rescue than anyone else in the U.S.
Tia's life is real and her TV series/reality show and Pit Bull animal shelter (and rescuers) get a lot of attention from the media. She worked on TV and film sets as well, and stray cats are her best friends as it's reported that she adopted quite a few over the years.
