Actors and scripts might seem like the most important thing to making a successful film, but to car lovers, we want great movie cars.
It's tough to pin down the greatest movie cars, and therefore determine which ones we'd want to own. Speed, power, flash... What's your choice?
Avoiding obvious picks like Bandit's 1977 Pontiac Trans Am or any one of the awesome cars that James Bond has driven over the years, here are five movie cars that we would love to drive, that you probably won't find on any similar lists.
1985 Toyota Pickup
Sure, the DeLorean gets all the attention in Back to the Future, but we'd rather have Marty's gorgeous 1985 Toyota Pickup.
This truck screams '80s classic with its tubular bumpers and roll bar and KC HiLiTES, and it isn't hard to see why Marty looks forward to taking Jennifer to the lake in it.
1965 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Convertible
Who wouldn't want to drive a classic Mercedes convertible to Las Vegas with their three best friends? Aside from getting roofied, beat up, abducted, and left on a hotel roof, The Hangover was essentially a movie about a "wolfpack" of friends road tripping in a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Convertible. Sounds fun to us!
1967 Plymouth GTX
We could probably make a list consisting of all classic Mopar movie cars, but one of our favorites would still be the cherry 1967 Plymouth GTX convertible that gets annihilated in Tommy Boy.
Packing a 440 with a six pack and a dash full of M&Ms, this car suffers a comic demise where by the end of the movie it has a cardboard door and blue tarp roof. Heck, we'd even love to find a '67 GTX in this condition and do a full restoration!
1973 Dodge Charger
It's not from a movie, but the 1973 Dodge Charger from the television show Burn Notice is definitely a car we'd love to drive.
The more popular 1968-1970 Chargers have appeared in everything from Dukes of Hazzard, Bullitt and The Fast and the Furious movies, but Michael Westen's classic Mopar would be a great car in which to bomb around South Beach.
1962 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible
In My Cousin Vinny, while the trial focuses on the differences between a 1964 Buick Skylark and a 1963 Pontiac Tempest (of which there are way too many to substantiate the plot), our favorite car from this movie would be Vinny's 1962 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible... if for no other reason than cruising from New York to Alabama with Marisa Tomei.
