Red is arguably the most beautiful car color out there.

While it is a tad ostentatious and catches the eye of any policeman anywhere, red is the greatest car color out there.

No color brings out a car's lines as red does. Red has been the flagship color a few select manufacturers, such as Alfa-Romeo and Ferrari.

Here are ten pictures of some fantastic cars that prove that red is the best car color out there.

10. Mazda Miata (NA)

There is no better cheap sports car than the Mazda Miata, primarily the first generation model. Mainly because it has pop-up headlights, which every modern car should have, by law. There's never been a bad looking Miata, and the NA is arguably the most beautiful of them all, with a simple, yet sporty and attractive design. Out of the relatively limited color palette available for the NA Miata, red is definitely the best color option.

9. Toyota 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ

The Toyota 86 isn't particularly beautiful. It is an interesting design, however, especially when compared to the boring cars that Toyota and Subaru tend to build. There aren't very many cheap front-engine, rear-wheel drive cars out there, making the 86 a special little car. Thanks to its relatively inexpensive purchase price, the 86 has become a popular platform among car modders.

While the 86 has a relatively interesting design, it looks dull in seemingly every color except for red. In black and grey, its lines are hidden underneath the void of such mundane colors. In red, the 86's body lines really pop, showing how much work went into making the 86 something interesting, unlike many of the mundane cars that haunt our roads today.

8. Ford Mustang (Fifth Generation)

The Ford Mustang is an American icon. There's never been a bad looking one, though the latest generation is lacking many of the nostalgic styling cues that previous generations bear. The fifth-generation is arguably the best looking Mustang since the original, specifically the face-lifted version sold from 2009 to 2014. The Shelby GT500 looks great in blue with white stripes, but I argue it's even more aggressive in red with black striping.

7. Dodge Challenger Hellcat

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is one of the best muscle cars of recent years. With 707 horsepower and rear-wheel drive, it doesn't exactly drive like a Prius. It is one of the best-looking muscle cars of all time, especially in Redline Red.

6. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6)

While the C7 Corvette is a great looking car, the C6 ZR1 is an all-time great. The C6 is the best looking Corvette since the C2, with bold, yet simple lines, making for a beautiful-yet-aggressive design. The ZR1 was the range-topping version, with a stratospheric 638 horsepower. The ZR1 was available in a mere handful of colors, though the most vibrant is Crystal Red, as pictured above.

The Jaguar F-Type is arguably the most beautiful modern Jag. While I'm not a big fan of mid-run face-lifts, the F-Type's recent face-lift has rendered it even more stunning than before. When finished in Caldera Red, the F-Type is definitely one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

4. Porsche 911 GT3 (RS)

The 991 Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the greatest cars Porsche ever made and is said by some to be the greatest driver's car out there. Powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six producing 500 horsepower, the 911 GT3 is far from boring. Porsche offers a wide palette of color options, but I argue that Guard's Red is the best of the lot.

The Alfa 4C marked the Italian manufacturer's return to the United States. After years of making (brilliant) front-wheel-drive sedans and hatchbacks, Alfa decided to turn it up a notch. In doing so, they created one of the most beautiful cars ever made. It is a crime if you buy one of these and it isn't red.

The Ferrari 458 is one of the greatest supercars of all time. It is the perfect medium between the "mechanical" Ferrari's of yesterday and the stupidly fast, turbocharged Ferrari's of today and tomorrow. It is arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever made, especially when finished in Ferrari's signature color Rosso Corsa.

1. Lamborghini Aventador SV

The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the most insane cars of recent years. The SV model takes it up a thousand notches, with more aggressive aero, a power bump, and a subsequent price bump. It truly looks like it belongs on an aircraft character instead of the road. Rosso Efesto is definitely the best color option available on the Aventador SV.
