General Motors announced at the Consumer Electronic Show this week that by 2019, it will produce driverless cars with no steering wheel or pedals.
It's a dramatic, bold statement coming from one of the world's biggest car companies. One that will surely make waves in the automotive industry. Ford has said it's driverless car without controls won't be ready until 2021.
GM said the cars will initially be deployed as self-driving, ride-hailing cars. If successful, we assume the cars will be made available to the public.
