Four-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton has verbally agreed to race a quadriplegic opponent using only his brain waves.
Rodrigo Hübner Mendes, the first person in history to operate a full-scale F1 car using only his mind, issued the challenge directly to Hamilton during a speech at this month's Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai.
The two will compete using advanced "neuro headsets" equipped with using Emotiv Epoc+ technology, which translates EEG brainwaves into acceleration, braking, and steering inputs to control devices. No word on when the race will take place.
The company behind this technology, Emotiv, also tweeted in response:

Mendes is also the founder of the Rodrigo Mendes Institute, a non-profit dedicated to expanding quality educational offerings for people with disabilities.
