The massive and menacing new Silverado HD will be the third all-new member of the Silverado lineup to launch in an 18-month span.
Chevrolet just released its first teaser of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD pickup, which fits right in between the light-duty 2019 Silverado 1500 and the medium-duty Silverado 4500HD/5500HD/6500HD trucks. This lineup will consist of the Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD.
There's no word as to what sort of specs we can expect from the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD, but expect powerful engines including the Duramax diesel and a wide mix of body and bed configurations. Judging by the recent debut of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, expect the Silverado HD to reveal some innovative features.
What we can tell from the picture is how mean this truck will look with a vented, power dome hood, stacked headlights and the split grille. With "CHEVROLET" spelled out in the chrome grille, it's impossible to mistake this truck for anything else.
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD will go up against trucks like the Ford F-Series Super Duty, Ram Heavy Duty and Nissan Titan XD. It will go into production later next year, but we will have to wait until the first half of next year to see the truck and its full specs; Chevrolet promised that the Silverado HD will be the third all-new truck in the Silverado lineup to be revealed in 18 months.
The 2019 Silverado 1500 was introduced in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the 2019 Silverado 4500HD/5500HD/6500HD was revealed last month at the 2018 Work Truck Show.
