Only 285 of the earliest model of Viper RT/10 were ever produced. Viper ACRs also broke records at the Nurburgring in 2008 and 2011 and set lap records at 14 racetracks. 1996 saw the introduction of the ubiquitous second-generation RT/10 model. That same year, the GTS Coupe debuted as the first Viper with airbags.
Over the years, a double-bubble roof was specifically designed for use with helmets, a trend that continued with special editions like the GT2 and ACR.
