It's hard to describe exactly what The Mitty is, but if you love cars, this is the place to be.
Part classic car race and part car show, this annual event held at the famed Road Atlanta is a tribute to the history of car racing and it celebrates what it means to be a racing and automotive enthusiast.
At this year's Mitty, held April 27-29, Nissan was the featured marque coinciding with 50 years of racing history in the U.S.

Road courses are to Nissans and Datsuns that sandy beaches and muddy off-road trails are to Jeeps, so this was a fitting venue for such a historic milestone. The three-day event had plenty of action for all car lovers, but the highlight of the festivities was the all Nissan/Datsun race on Saturday. On the track, grand marshal John Morton drove a replica of his championship-winning BRE Datsun 240Z!
This year's Mitty was definitely Nissan/Datsun love fest with Z cars, Datsun 510s and GT-Rs parked almost everywhere in the Road Atlanta infield, but your passion for the Japanese automaker isn't required for you to have a good time. This event is like a car show in motion packing all of the sights, sounds and smells that you can handle at one of America's most fan-friendly road courses.
When the cars weren't racing around the track, attendees can walk around the pits seeing all of the cars being prepared for the track. Nissan had assembled an amazing fan zone with an assortment of new and classic models including a 300ZX pace car and the No. 83 ZX-Turbo IMSA GTP race car.
