Former Xfinity Series NASCAR crewman Lawrence Hayden has been arrested and suspended indefinitely for breaking the jaw of JP Motorsports owner Jerry Hattaway.
Everyone who's ever been fired over a dispute or was already in hot water with their job in jeopardy has thought of straight up knocking the block off their boss. Visions of tightening a fist to resemble that Arthur meme before landing a sick punch to the kisser of a supervisor have probably gone through everyone's mind at some point. But, then, it's another thing to actually do it. That's where former JP Motorsports crewman found himself as he decided to pop off against the team's owner.
According to the Dover Police Department, the altercation occurred at the Dover International Speedways garage ahead of the One Main Financial 200 Xfinity Series race this Saturday, with an argument about Hayden's employment status with the JP Motorsports escalating to a broken jaw.

After the hit—and, holy crap, what a hit it must have been—Hattaway was treated both on-location and at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, with assault charges assessed on Hayden, who is now out on $500 bail.
It is unclear what exactly was said during the argument and what led to Hattaway being cold clocked, but, come on, it's loud, it's hot, there's usually money involved. We can do the math.
"Crew member Lawrence Hayden has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR following his arrest by the Dover Police Department. NASCAR will continue working with local law enforcement and will have no further comment at this time," read a NASCAR statement.
Hattaway is a co-owner of the No. 45 and No. 55 cars in the Xfinity Series, driven by Josh Bilicki and Stephen Leicht.
