A large number of Nissan vehicles have been recalled due to faulty ignition systems.
Specifically, the defect results in sudden loss of power to its key-in-switch ignitions, carrying a spring that erodes slowly over time and vibrates excessively, causing a vehicle to potentially shut off mid-drive due to wear or being moved from the "on" position. In some cases, the issue may cause the air bags to become deactivated.
No injuries or deaths have been reported.
Models affected include the 2017-2018 Juke, Sentra, Frontier, Versa, Versa Note, NV, NV200, and Taxis.

Nissan advises all affected ones to remove all attached items, such as key chains, which create greater pressure for the spring to erode.
