As a professional racer and stunt driver, Tanner Foust has had a TON of incredible behind-the-wheel moments. But, the Formula Drift world champion, three-time U.S. RallyCross champion, and former Top Gear host put out one hell of a high-performance video when he took to the streets of San Diego, California in a 400-hp Polaris Slingshot. Packing 400 horsepower from a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, the souped-up Slingshot SL is already impressive enough, but throw in the tire-screeching drifts and ridiculously skillful finesse driving under those flashy city lights, and this is like something straight out of a Fast and Furious movie. How the Tanner Foust Slingshot Test Drive Came Together
For the 75th Annual Daytona Bike Week back in March 2016, SlingshotX.com and custom builder SlingStreet teamed up to build the "Slingshot X." Besides the 2.4-liter Ecotec engine (which, as mentioned before, boasts a whopping 400 horsepower), the turbo trike also came with a four-speed automatic transmission with manual paddle shifters, a QA1 coil-over suspension, 14-inch Willwood Rotors grabbed by 6-piston calipers, Sparco Seats, and a custom set of HRE wheels. Having Tanner Foust drive this beast was just the cherry on top.
"Slingshot X is pure exhilaration, testing the limits of both driver and machine," said Craig Scanlon, the vice president of Slingshot, shortly after the vehicle's debut. "Tanner Foust, Mad Media, and all involved have created an incredible testament to the capability of this one-of-a-kind vehicle."
