Giant Python Swallows A Woman Whole In Scene That Feels Like A Horror Movie

It's very much a scene from a horror movie. A giant python recently killed and swallowed a woman whole in what I can only describe as horrific. It reminds me very much from that bad 1990s film Anaconda. That film featured a couple of the researchers going down to the rain forest where they're hunted by a giant snake.

I won't post the graphic video here, but it features the woman's fellow villagers cutting open the snake and pulling her body out. One person audibly gags through the whole process. 45-year-old Farida disappeared on Thursday. Her husband and neighbors in Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province searched for her. A mother of four, Farida never returned home.

Her husband "found her belongings... which made him suspicious. The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly," village chief Suardi said via Fox.

He continued, "They agreed to cut open the python's stomach. As soon as they did, Farida's head was immediately visible." The snake was 16-foot long. The missing woman still had her clothes on.

Python Eats Woman

Her husband Noni opened up about her death. He felt a lot of guilt and shame about not going with her that day. "If I had been with her that day, the snake would not have dared to touch her," he said, according to ViralPress.

"I feel sorry for the suffering she went through. I am sorry for our family," he said.

It turns out that incidents like this happened from time to time. Last year, a 26-foot-long python tried to kill a local farmer but neighbors killed it. Going back to 2018, a snake killed and ate a 54-year-old woman in Southeast Sulawesi's Muna town. Another farmer, this time in West Sulawesi, also ended up in the belly of a 13 foot python.

While anacondas may get all of the horror movies, reticulated pythons are actually the longest snakes in the world. They can grow up to 32 feet in length. They can weigh up to 350 pounds, making them very strong and difficult to deal with. The snakes are native to Indonesia, the Philippines, India and Borneo.
