The bloodwood tree is something out of a Hollywood horror movie.
This actual tree's sap is a consistency and color of real blood. Even though this isn't real blood, it's still somehow hard to watch.

Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. This is certainly the case of the bloodwood tree. It's sap is a deep shade of red just like real blood. Oh yes, and the consistency is about the same as mammalian blood too.
