A hen turkey caught on video was either taunting the hunter or suicidal.
You don't often hear people refer to turkeys as smart. However, they do occasionally shock hunters with their behavior. This encounter will have you wondering if the turkey knew the hunter wouldn't shoot or if it wanted the hunter to shoot.
See for yourself in this video of the fowlest kind.
There's no arguing that turkeys have excellent daylight vision. Plus, they have 360-degree vision due to head rotation and can see color by some degrees.
Without a single care, the turkey strolled up to and around the hunter and his gun.
The turkey looks directly at the hunter - and doesn't seem to care! She continues on her way including examining the hunter, the ground around him, and even take a few more pecks at the gun before concluding that it was a waste of time.
Despite the hunter's excellent ability to hold still while videoing, it's hard to fathom that the turkey couldn't see the hunter, especially as he rotated the camera to follow the hen.
What do you think? Could she see the hunter?
