It took this group of anglers nearly two hours to land the giant stingray.
A beast of epic proportions. That's what a group of Thai anglers managed to wrestle in from the Mae Klong River. The group latched on to the giant stingray and fought for nearly two hours. In the end, they were holding a 530 lbs giant.
Incredibly, the stingray measured a whopping two meters across, or just over 6.5 feet. (Despite the risk of extinction, the Mae Klong River is known for some of the largest freshwater stingrays in the world).
The anglers took some time to snap a few pictures and take some video of the beast before releasing it back into the water:
